Art: History & Hands On - Art Project - Michelangelo In-Person
The Blue Hill Public Library is sponsoring a programming series with local artist and gallery-owner Margret Baldwin. Each month, Margret will host an art history film screening, and on the following Saturday, will host an optional, hands-on related workshop.
This month, the topic is Michelangelo. The film screening will be Michelangelo: Love and Death on Friday, March 17 at 6:30 p.m., and the workshop will be Subjective Sculpture held on Saturday, March 18 at 5:00 p.m.
In the film Michelangelo: Love and Death, Michelangelo's whole life and works are examined in this documentary through an exhibition in the National Gallery that also explores his relationship with da Vinci.
These events are free and open to all, however, space is limited for the hands-on art workshop. Registration is required, and we encourage all regitsrants to attend the film screenign to better understand the artist and project. For more information, please contact Kayleigh at kayleigh.thomas@bhpl.net or by calling the library at 374-5515.
Margret is a certified art instructor with 25 years in the public school system and private teaching experience. She expanded her exposure to art and artists through her curatorial experience during eight years of employment at the Blue Hill Public Library. She has exhibited widely, and in the summer runs her neighborhood “Little Gallery” in Surry.
