Kids' Author Event: Kimberly Ridley

Kids' Author Event: Kimberly Ridley In-Person

The library and Blue Hill Books are cosponsoring an author event with Kimberly Ridley for kids and families on Saturday, December 3 at 10 am.  Kimberly Ridley is the author of the new book The Secret Stream, a nonfiction picture book that features a stream who narrates its own natural history as it flows from its headwaters in the mountains to its mouth in the lowlands, introducing the plants and animals that line its banks and live in its waters.  After the story, participants will have the opportunity to make a fun craft to take home.

Science writer Kimberly Ridley is the award-winning author of nonfiction books that invite children and their grown-ups to explore the real-world magic and mystery in their own backyards.  Her joy is sharing her love of nature and writing with kids through her books and school visits. Kimberly’s picture books, The Secret Pool (Kirkus starred review) and The Secret Bay, have received honors including Riverby Awards from the John Burroughs Association for “outstanding natural history books for young people.” She lives with her artist husband and their cat Tilly. Kimberly spends as much time as possible exploring the woods, fields and shores around her home in Brooklin, following her curiosity.

This event is free, open to the public, and will be held in the library's Howard Room. Books will be available for sale and signing. If you have any questions, contact Claire at claire.malina@bhpl.net or call 374-5515.
