Slaven Lecture Series: Lobstering in Maine with Sheila and Mike Dassatt of Downeast Lobstermen's Association In-Person

The Blue Hill Public Library is sponsoring a discussion with Sheila and Mike Dassatt, the Executive Director, and Secretary/Treasurer of the Downeast Lobstermen's Association, respectively, on Thursday, December 8 at 7:00pm.

The Downeast Lobstermen's Association (DELA) was founded in 1991 in Jonesport. Now, the association has people who are lobstering from Kittery to Eastport, as well as in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Members are seated on Lobster Zone Councils statewide, as well as on the Large Whale Take Reduction Team, and take part in the Working Waterfront Coalition, and are seated on the Board of Directors for the Lobster Institute at the University of Maine.

This program is free and open to the public. For more information, email Kayleigh at kayleigh.thomas@bhpl.net or visit www.bhpl.net
