Stardust and Sketching with Jamie Hogan In-Person
Kids are invited to join author and illustrator, Jamie Hogan, on Saturday October 22 at 10am for a reading of her new book Skywatcher, along with a sketching workshop after the story. Jamie will discuss her process, pastels, and finding patterns in nature. She will invite participants to draw from observation and imagination to tell their own stellar stories.
Jamie Hogan is an author, award-winning illustrator, and educator. She taught illustration at Maine College of Art for fifteen years and is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and the Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance. Jamie's picture books capture nature themes with vivid characters and magical realism. Her most recent book, Skywatcher, is a call to find the wonders of dark skies and the wilderness within us. She lives on Peaks Island with her husband and daughter, both artists.
This workshop is cosponsored by Word, the Blue Hill literary arts festival, and by the Blue Hill Library. It is funded by Bar Harbor Bank and Trust. Registration is required for this in-person workshop and can be done either by using the library's interactive calendar or by calling 374-5515.
