Books and Brews : 'The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo' by Taylor Jenkins Reid In-Person
Do you like a good book? How about drinking a great beer? If so, this is the book club for you. Join Assistant Director Kayleigh Thomas offsite at Strong Brewing in Sedgwick to discuss a book and drink some beer. We will meet once a month typically on the last Friday of the month.
This month, we will be reading and discussing The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid on Friday, June 24 at 6pm. Aging and reclusive Hollywood movie icon Evelyn Hugo is finally ready to tell the truth about her glamorous and scandalous life. But when she chooses unknown magazine reporter Monique Grant for the job, no one is more astounded than Monique herself. Spanning from her time in Hollywood in the 50s to leaving the acting life behind in the 80s, with all the loves in between, this is a "mesmerizing journey through the splendor of old Hollywood into the harsh realities of the present day as two women struggle with what it means—and what it costs—to face the truth" (Redbook).
Copies of the book will be available in advance for checkout from the library. For more information, call the library at 374-5515 or email Kayleigh at firstname.lastname@example.org.
