Readings on Race Discussion Group: Online Meeting this month

Readings on Race Discussion Group: Online Meeting this month In-Person / Online

New members are invited to the library’s monthly discussion group, "Readings on Race," on the second Saturday of each month at 2:00 PM.

This month, the meeting will take place on Saturday, January 22 at 2pm ONLINE, and the book for discussion is Decolonizing Wealth by Edgar Villanueva. This book presents a provocative analysis of the dysfunctional colonial dynamics at play in philanthropy and finance. Copies of the book will be available to check out in advance at the library. Additional readings and more information can be found on the Readings on Race webpage.

Surry resident Kate Mrozicki facilitates the group. Kate is a farmer who believes in the power of difficult conversations to change our reality. She got to practice those conversations during years of working for The Food Project in Boston and is now raising small children in Surry. This event is free and everyone is welcome.
