Readings on Race Discussion Group

Readings on Race Discussion Group In-Person

New members are invited to the library’s monthly discussion group, "Readings on Race," on Saturday, December 18th, at 2:00 PM.

This month, the book for discussion is Women of the Dawn by Bunny McBride. Telling the stories of four remarkable Wabanaki women who lived in North America during the four centuries that devastated their traditional world and their courageous responses to the tragedies brought on by European colonizers.

Copies of the book will be available to check out in advance at the library. Additional readings and more information can be found on the Readings on Race webpage.

Surry resident Kate Mrozicki facilitates the group. Kate is a farmer who believes in the power of difficult conversations to change our reality. She got to practice those conversations during years of working for The Food Project in Boston and is now raising small children in Surry.

This event is free and open to all, and will be an in-person event in the Howard Room, but registration is required. You can register using our online event calendar, or by calling the library at 374-5515.
