As part of the library's 2021 Robert K. & Linda B. Slaven Lecture Series, the Blue Hill Public Library and Blue Hill Books will co-sponsor an author talk by James Weiss, author of the recently released book The Hidden Beauty of the Microscopic World, on Saturday, June 26 at 10:00 AM. A recording of the program will also be available for later viewing.  This program is for all ages.

In The Hidden Beauty of the Microscopic World, James Weiss, videographer behind the Journey to the Microcosmos YouTube channel, presents a beginner's guide to the extremely small and utterly strange life that surrounds us, showing what the tiniest forms of life can tells us about existence and our place in the universe.

An unbelievable abundance of life flourishes on every surface of our planet. In every drop of dew, on every leaf, and even inside each one of us, invisible yet ingenious life thrives. James Weiss, microbe enthusiast and videographer, has spent thousands of hours peeking into this world, and has been astounded by the beauty he finds there. Join us for some amazing images and insights into this hidden world!

Slaven Lecture Series seeks to bring distinguished speakers with expertise in a wide array of subjects to Blue Hill, to share their knowledge on topics of importance to the community and the world.
