Laser Cut Design: Make your own custom frames or artwork

Laser Cut Design: Make your own custom frames or artwork Online

On Friday March 12 at 3 PM, teens are invited to join Haystack Technology Director James Rutter for the first in a two part online workshop about laser cut design. In this multi-session workshop participants will explore how to use computer graphic design programs to create their own design projects for the laser cutter. A laser cutter is an amazing machine that can engrave and cut almost anything into wood, paper, cork, fabric, and a number of other materials. Participants will learn the basics of computer design using freely available software, and then design and fabricate their own custom wooden frames or artwork.  The created pieces will later be available to pick up at the library.

All are welcome to sign up for this online workshop, though space is limited. Please register using the library's interactive calendar or by calling 374-5515 to register for the Zoom link. This program is co-sponsored by the library and Haystack Mountain School of Crafts. For more information email Teen Services Librarian Kendall Chapman at kendall.chapman@gmail.com.
