Blood Sugar Basics with Lakeisha Allen In-Person

The Blue Hill Library will present a talk on blood sugar with Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and Maine native Lakeisha Allen on Thursday, August 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the library's Howard Room. Ever wonder why you crash at 3:00 p.m., wake up at 3:00 a.m., or feel hungry an hour after eating?  Your blood sugar might be running the show!

Join nutritionist and longevity coach Lakeisha Allen for a down-to-earth look at how blood sugar actually works and why it matters for energy, sleep, mood, hormone balance, weight control and long-term health, and simple strategies you can start using at your very next meal. Lakeisha's talk aims to give attendees practical tools and a better understanding of what your body has been trying to tell you.

Lakeisha Allen is a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and Longevity Coach, who has been featured in Bloomberg and The Purist. Originally from a blueberry farm in Penobscot, she spent years as a consultant living and working in more than 15 countries, and rebuilt her own health from burnout using food, sunlight, movement, and modern science. Today she helps busy people reclaim their energy through practical, bespoke protocols. Find her on Instagram at @lakeisha_allen_.
