Spooky Stories 101 with Author Nancy Tandon In-Person

The library and Blue Hill Books will host an author event with Nancy Tandon on Wednesday, July 8 at 2:00 p.m.  This event will be geared towards kids in 3rd-6th grade.

This special creative writing workshop begins with a short reading from Nancy's newest novel, The Haunting of Walker Pond, before participants are led in a "Mad Libs"-style group haunted storytelling activity. Then, kids are guided through the process of creating a scary story of their own including elements such as creepy descriptions, twists, and legends/lore, and will get to create DIY ghost bookmarks.

This event is cosponsored by Blue Hill Books and the library.  Blue Hill Books will be on site with copies of the book available for purchase.  For more information, contact Claire at claire.malina[at]bhpl.net or call 374-5515.

Nancy Tandon is the author of The Way I Say It, a Junior Library Guild Selection and Indies Introduce Kids Pick. Her novel The Ghost of Spruce Point, a companion to her latest The Haunting of Walker Pond, was nominated for the Texas Bluebonnet and Hawaii Nēnē state book awards. A transplant from the Midwest, Nancy now lives in Connecticut with her family and enjoys popcorn, reading, and spooky summers on the coast of Maine.
