Student Art Month: Teacher Panel In-Person
The Blue Hill Public Library is sponsoring a panel with three local art teachers on Tuesday April 14 at 7PM in celebration of Student Art Month. Local artist Margret Baldwin will moderate a discussion between the three art educators on the work they do with their students, and what it takes to help create a successful Student Art Month.
Ren Albon is in her second year as the art teacher at Penobscot Community School. When she is not teaching you can find her working on her hobby farm in Castine.
Melissa Rioux is the Visual Arts Department Chair at George Stevens Academy. She was born and raised in Blue Hill, Maine and is and a George Stevens Academy Alum. She attended Pratt and studied illustration as a Communications Design major with a minor in Art History, graduating in 2005. In the summers, she loves to swim and draw and paint with my two children, Maggie and Robin.
Russell Webner is currently the art teacher at the Adams School in Castine. He graduated from Vassar College with a studio art major, and received his MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art. This art education focused on painting primarily, along with printmaking, bookmaking, photography and digital media. Currently, his art practice incorporates stone mosaic, mold-making, 3D-printing and landscape design.
