Book Discussion & Author Talk: 'Stronger' by Nicola Hanney

Book Discussion & Author Talk: 'Stronger' by Nicola Hanney In-Person

The Blue Hill Library and Finding Our Voices are cosponsoring a virtual book discussion with the author of Stronger: What Didn't Kill Me, Made Me by Nicola Hanney, on Tuesday, October 14 at 1PM. Join us either in-person at the library, for a Zoom live-stream of the discussion, or from another location via Zoom.

First-time author Nicola will be joining us from Ireland to talk about her devastating memoir about the sadistic terrorizing from her policeman-ex that saw him finally sent to prison— but not for long enough—  for coercive control AKA emotional abuse.

In 2023 Nicola Hanney broke her silence in the Irish documentary Taking Back Control, describing being terrorized inside her home while pregnant and fighting cancer.

This program is free and open to all. To register to become part of the Finding Our Voices Book Club and receive the Zoom link visit https://bookclubs.com/finding-our-voices/join/. Copies of the book are available at the library. For more information contact kayleigh.thomas@bhpl.net or 374-5515.

Finding Our Voices is a nonprofit organization that aims to prevent domestic violence in Maine founded by Patrisha McLean. The Finding Our Voices book club is one of the many ways that the organization is breaking the silence around domestic abuse. To learn more about Finding Our Voices visit www.findingourvoices.net. Patrisha McLean, also hosts the radio show "Let's Talk About It,” conversations with domestic violence survivors on WERU every second Friday of the month.
