Harvest Book Arts for Kids

Harvest Book Arts for Kids In-Person

Everyone is invited to this family friendly event to make pop-up books to celebrate the harvest season on Saturday, November 8 from 1-3 p.m.  Shannon Kerner, local book creator and artist, will teach participants how to create their own pop-up books to take home.  Many fun ideas will "leap off" from the page; haystacks, vegetables from the garden, a sunset, a dahlia, a scarecrow or a crow. . . whatever your imagination can "spring up" from a square fold, and/or a V fold pop-up.  Participants will use paper, scissors, and glue to make their pop-up books and all materials will be provided by the library.

Shannon Kerner is a book conservator, bookbinder, and marbler living in Midcoast, Maine. To learn more about her work you can visit her website.  Thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Library, this event is free and open to all.  For more information, contact Claire at claire.malina@bhpl.net or call 374-5515.
