Author Event: Julie Frieder, 'Wonder Year' In-Person
The Blue Hill Library and Blue Hill Books are cosponsoring a talk with author Julie Frieder for the book Wonder Year: A Guide to Long-Term Family Travel on Tuesday, September 30 at 7PM. Julie Frieder and friends are cycling through Maine and Vermont, stopping at indie bookstores and libraries to share stories about epic family adventures.
After spending 13 months on the road with her family, Julie wrote Wonder Year: A Guide to Long-Term Family Travel—a book born from the real experience of figuring out how to pull up stakes and hit the road for longer than a vacation. Part inspiration and part how-to, this book demystifies the seemingly outrageous prospect of embarking on a long-term family trip and using the world as a classroom for your kids—a trailblazing approach known as worldschooling.
Julie, a first time indie-author, will share what she learned about planning and executing adventures, finding education on the road, and discovering that family travel doesn't have to be perfect to be transformative. Whether you're curious about worldschooling, dreaming of a summer road trip, or just wondering how families make it all work, come join in a wondrous conversation about curiosity, connection, and the educational power of travel.
This program is free and open to the public, and will be held in the library's Howard Room. For more information, please call the library at 374-5515 or email Assistant Director Kayleigh Thomas at kayleigh.thomasbhpl.net
