Author Event: Sarah Vollmann, 'Born Into Loss' In-Person
On Saturday, August 2 at 3:00 p.m. everyone is invited to join Dr. Sarah Vollmann in a discussion of her recent book “Born Into Loss: Shadows of a Deceased Sibling and Family Journeys of Grief,” at the library. The book explores the experiences of children who are born after the death of a sibling, and the many repercussions of loss upon a family.
Sarah Vollmann coauthored the book Born Into Loss: Shadows of a Deceased Sibling and Family Journeys of Grief, which explores the experiences of children who are born after the death of a sibling, and the many repercussions of loss upon a family system. She will speak about the book and her experiences, as well as answer questions.
Dr. Sarah Vollmann, DSW, MPS, ATR-BC, LICSW is a researcher, a registered, board-certified art therapist, and a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in working with grief and loss. She is a faculty member of the Portland Institute for Loss and Transition, and the Associate Director of the Young Widowhood Project. Sarah maintains a private practice specializing in grief and traumatic loss, and she is also the Lead Counselor at Buckingham Browne & Nichols School. She has published numerous articles and book chapters about grief, and presents nationally and internationally on art therapy, grief, and bereavement.
