A Changing Landscape: Shifting priorities of people, policy, and conservation strategies In-Person
As the Peninsula faces increasing development pressures, how do local communities and land trusts decide what to protect, what tools do they have and what limitations do they face? Many agree that there is limited time to protect open space, water access, and cherished scenic sites. How do we conserve the natural resources that define our local communities while also addressing economic realities and the urgent need for affordable housing? How do we prevent a future where access to water and scenic views are available only to the wealthy?
Join us for a public forum on Wednesday, March 5 at 7PM as local panelists discuss how we navigate these challenges. Moderated by George Hurvitt, the panelists will include Ciona Ulbrich, MCHT; George Fields, BHHT; Averi Varney, HCPC; Bailey Bowden, active community member; and Julia Zell, IHT.
