Book Club for the Ages : A Scatter of Light by Malinda Lo

Book Club for the Ages : A Scatter of Light by Malinda Lo In-Person

Anyone ages 13+ is invited to join Teen Services Librarian Kendall and Circulation Coordinator Olivia Zubrowski for a special intergenerational book club, Book Club for the Ages, on the second Wednesday of each month from 6-7 pm in the Pearson room by the fireplace. In Book Club for the Ages, we will read a wide variety of fiction including young adult, short stories, and more. For our next meeting on Wednesday, February 12 at 6 p.m. we'll be discussing the book A Scatter of Light by Malinda Lo.

"Aria Tang West was looking forward to a summer on Martha's Vineyard with her best friends—one last round of sand and sun before college. But after a graduation party goes wrong, Aria's parents exile her to California to stay with her grandmother, artist Joan West. Aria expects boredom, but what she finds is Steph Nichols, her grandmother's gardener. Soon, Aria is second-guessing who she is and what she wants to be, and a summer that once seemed lost becomes unforgettable—for Aria, her family, and the working-class queer community Steph introduces her to. It's the kind of summer that changes a life forever."

This program is free and sponsored by the library thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Library. Copies of the book will be available at the library. If you have questions contact Kendall at kendall.chapman@bhpl.net or Olivia at oliviaz@bhpl.net or call us at 374-5515.
