Groundhog Day Ball featuring The Soul Benders In-Person
Spring or winter, what will it be? Either way, come one, come all to hear The Soul Benders with special guests MaiaLizCrazy play at the Blue Hill Public Library's second annual Groundhog Day Ball, a new fundraiser for the library, on Saturday, February 1, from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. This event is made possible by Stanley Subaru.
Doors will open at 6:00 p.m, and there will be festive dessert offerings, such as pops from The Blue Chill, and a raffle with unique prizes, including gift certificates from several local businesses. New this year, there will be a cash bar, stocked with your favorite Groundhog Ale from Fogtown Brewery, and a Wallace & Gromit movie upstairs - with popcorn!- for the young and young at heart. Music and dancing will start at 7:00 p.m.
Admission is $20 per person, or $50 per household. Optional benefactor tickets are also available for $50 and $100 and will help make this fundraising event a success as well as guarantee those ticket-holders a place in Groundhog Heaven (you’ll even get a certificate!). Tickets can be purchased in advance at the circulation desk or online—or at the door for $5 more. All proceeds benefit the library.
This is a family-friendly event, and costumes are not only welcome but encouraged! Come dressed as a groundhog, don a top hat, and put on your best winter or spring finery. Celebrate the early arrival of spring—or six more weeks of snow, ice, and hibernation—with the library.
For more information, please call the library at 374-5515.
