Author Event: Todd Nelson, 'The Land Between the Rivers' In-Person
The Blue Hill Public Library and Blue Hill Books are cosponsoring an author event with local author Todd Nelson for his newest book The Land Between the Rivers on Thursday, October 10 at the Blue Hill Public Library.
Todd Nelson, a retired educator, builds upon the success of his critically acclaimed debut essay collection, Cold Spell. In this new compilation, Nelson delves into his Maine experiences, weaving together a series of concise essays. Unlike the traditional focus on specific locations, these essays center around the art of observation. While readers will recognize the Maine setting, the precise locales remain intentionally elusive. The Land Between the Rivers invites readers to explore the act of seeing, fostering a deeper connection with place, language, and storytelling. It encourages us to peer beyond mere appearances and engage in the realm of imagination.
Todd R. Nelson is a writer and educator whose 35-year career in teaching included six years as a school principal. He has been published in The Ellsworth American, Bangor Daily News, Portland Press Herald, CreativeMaineMag.com, Taproot, and the Philadelphia Inquirer, as well as on Maine Public Radio. He lives with his family in Penobscot, Maine.
This event is free and open to the public, and will be held in the library's Howard Room. For more information, please call the library at 374-5515, or email Assistant Director Kayleigh Thomas at kayleigh.thomas[at]bhpl.net. Blue Hill Books will be onsite with copies of the book available for purchase.
