Wild and Scenic Film Festival In-Person
The Blue Hill Heritage Trust and Blue Hill Public Library are coming together again to cosponsor a film screening of the Wild and Scenic Film Festival: On Tour on Saturday, February 10 from 6 PM to 8 PM in the Adelaide Pearson Room.
The films will be shown in the Pearson Room at the library. Join us for a selection of amazing short films from around the world, as well as light refreshments and drinks with a Valentine's Day flair! The theme of this year's films shown is 'Inspiring Adventure', with films focusing on conservation, exploration, climate change, and more.
This event is free and open to all, but space is limited, so please register by using the library's online interactive calendar. Doors will open at 5:45.
The Wild & Scenic Film Festival was started in 2003 by the South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL, pronounced ‘circle’), a watershed advocacy group based in the Sierra foothills of Northern California. The organization was formed in 1983 when a small group of concerned citizens banded together to fight against several proposed dams.
The festival celebrates its annual event in Nevada City, CA each winter featuring over 150 award-winning films and welcoming filmmakers, celebrities, and activists who bring a human face to the environmental movement. SYRCL’s Wild & Scenic Film Festival is a call to action! The films illustrate not only the challenges facing our planet but the work communities are doing to protect the environment and the places we love. The stories give us a sense of place and what it means to be responsible stewards of the earth.
